It covers 9% of South Korea, and is larger than Chungcheongnam-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Jeollabuk-do.
It boasts more than 500 hot springs and 300 geysers, and attracts about 4 million visitors a year. It’s a natural treasure trove, home to more than 1,000 species of plants and 300 species of animals. Yellowstone is such a huge volcano that the entire region is an active volcano. The entirety of Yellowstone can be thought of as a caldera landscape.
