Detail Today you’ll travel with your guide to northwest Iceland, where you’ll walk through the harbors and sea cliffs of fishing villages with some of the most spectacular views in Iceland We’ll walk through the Atlantic Ocean’s rough waves and the rocky peaks of Rondrangar and Basalt, stopping at the beautiful beaches of Arnartarfjord, the cliffs of Arnartarfj, the fishing village, the black church of Budakirkja Budir, and the seal colony of Itrijunga Beach. Besides Black Volcano Dufalon Sandur, you can’t miss Sax Hall Crater. This 4,000-year-old volcanic crater is accessible via an iron staircase, where you can hike to see the lava fields with the Snaefellsjökull glacier looming overhead and continue to Kirkjufell “Church Mountain” and Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall, an iconic narrow mountain that has become a landmark of Snæfellsnes. In Game of Thrones, it was introduced as ‘Arrowhead Mountain’ and became famous. The mountain was shaped by glacial erosion during the last Ice Age 12,000 years ago and is one of Iceland’s most photographed attractions.

The ice itself appears in all shades of white and blue, a beautiful contrast to the black sand beach Reyni Sparamull, where the cliffs of Dyrhóljökull are visible.
