The hot springs are said to contain high levels of lactate, chloride, and sodium bicarbonate, which are said to be effective in treating rheumatism, wind, arteriosclerotic hypertension, allergies, and chronic digestive diseases. โถ Ice Museum Ice Museum (30 minutes) See the ice hotel built at Chena Hot Springs and the ice sculptures made using transparent ice A building with a special system called “cold from warm” that utilizes the power of electricity and hot springs. The building explores the possibilities of harnessing geothermal energy. Using clean, renewable energy from geothermal heat and hot water, extremely cold air flows through the walls to keep the building itself in a refrigerator-like state. It is the only ice museum in the world that is open all year round, even in the summer when the indoor temperature is -7 degrees.
